Workshops

We facilitate workshops on a variety of topics, aimed to help students improve foundational writing skills.

We collaborate with instructors to create researched and interactive workshops to meet your class’s learning outcomes.

About Workshops

The Writing Center Workshops Team conducts about 200 writing-based in class workshops a year. During workshops, writers practice writing skills, build and share knowledge, and gain new perspectives on their work through exploratory exercises, discussions, and other collaborative activities

Example Workshop Topics

Some of our most popular topics include: ePortfolios & Visual Rhetoric; Citations Styles (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, AP); Working in Groups; Business Communications; Conducting Peer Review; Writing Personal Statements; and Writing Literature Reviews.

Writing Center Presentations

In a writing heavy course, it can be beneficial to introduce your students to the Writing Center and all we offer. In a short 15-minute presentation, your students will learn about what the Writing Center offers, including how it can assist them in writing assignments for your course.
